Membership Programs

There are two Membership Incentive Programs approved by the E-Board. Please note that the different programs described on this page cannot be used in conjunction with each other.

Membership Acquisition Program: (MAP)

A supply of kits is available as an incentive for joining IPMS or for recruiting modelers to join IPMS. You may view images of the available items by visiting the Gallery. The kits displayed in this album are available to chartered IPMS Chapters, returning IPMS members whose memberships have expired (Membership must have been inactive for at least five years), and to modelers who join IPMS as a new member and who wish to claim one of these excellent models as a "Thank You" from IPMS. This program requires action being taken on the part of the chapter or member. It is not automatic. To activate this program please contact Dick Montgomery via email.

  • New members to IPMS
    • For every NEW member IPMS will ship five kits to that member's chapter.
      • One kit goes to NEW member. (NEW member choice from available stock)
      • Four additional kits (Chapter choice from available stock) will be shipped
      • All kits will be sent to a single address supplied by the chapter.
  • Returning members whose memberships have lapsed. .(Membership must have been inactive for at least five years)
    • For every Returning member IPMS will ship three kits to that member's chapter.
      • One kit goes to Returning member. (Returning member choice from available stock)
      • Two additional kits (Chapter choice from available stock) will be shipped
      • All kits will be sent to a single address supplied by the chapter.

Chapters may wish to have access to some of these kits without membership issues being involved. Please contact Dick Montgomery and present your idea. Please incorporate the requirement that the chapter will pay for the shipping costs involved in your plans.

Membership Incentive Program: (MIP)

In an effort to recruit new members and to reward those who assist in that goal, the IPMS/USA Executive Board voted to enact a new incentive program during the Board Meeting at the 2008 National Convention in Virginia Beach.

The program is simple - we're asking our membership to help us increase our ranks. Any current member in good standing who recruits a new member will receive a free ONE YEAR membership extension. This program has been extended indefinitely by the IPMS/USA Executive Board at the 2009 National Convention.

A "new" member is defined as someone who has never before been a member of IPMS/USA, or whose last paid membership expired before September 30, 2004. This incentive is limited to one extension reward per current member, regardless of how many new members he or she brings in, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other membership acquisition program.
