Nat Richards Dear fellow members: My name is Nat Richards and I am seeking election as our Society’s First Vice President. I have been a member of IPMS/USA for 30 years. I have been actively involved in local chapter operations, serving seven years as Chapter President during which time we were awarded both the Chapter of the Year and Newsletter of the Year awards. I had the privilege of serving on the IPMS Advisory Board that studied the needs and wants of the Society. I have previously been a part of the IPMS/USA Journal staff and continue to be a regular contributor. Professionally I work in corporate marketing and marketing communications, meaning I represent my company both within an industry and to the public marketplace. I have a demonstrated skill for developing strategic relationships that include developing initiatives and programs for cooperative marketing factors and mutual benefit. I believe this skill set is critical to the role of First Vice President as this position represents the Society to the model industry and also to the public. My involvement with the Journal had me working with much of the model industry seeking advertising, industry news and product for review in the Journal. There is much more to the role of First Vice President then just running the Reviewer Corp. If elected as First Vice President, I bring the requisite leadership and marketing skills to the task as it is outlined in our Constitution and By Laws and the additional tasks traditionally assigned to this position. I plan to actively represent the Society to the model industry and advocate its role as a leading consumer voice. Much good has already been done with the development of the Reviewer Corp, yet there is much more that needs doing. My ultimate goal is to have our Society, our Journal and our website viewed as industry leaders, worthy of the same treatment and esteem given to commercial publications and websites.
