IPMS/Cincinnati Scale Modelers

The Cincinnati Scale Modelers (CSM/IPMS Cincinnati) sponsored a Make ‘N Take for the Cub Scouts, friends and family of Pack 943 from Liberty Township.  The event was held at the Hobby Lobby in Springdale, OH.  Thirty eight scout and adult modelers plus assorted parents attended.  Assisted by an able team of volunteers, everyone had a great time building cars, planes, jets and the occasional UFO.

There was a steady stream of activity during the 4 hour event and it stretched well into a 5th hour.  Builders started arriving at 10am and it was standing room only until 11:30.  The lull was short-lived as the next wave began arriving at noon and went steady until 2:30.

A great time was had by all and many thanks were received from the budding builders.

“We had a great time and my son is already putting together the model he won as a door prize. “

“Thanks for the great opportunity to share these experiences with my boys.  I used to do modeling as a youth.  My boys really enjoyed the experience and can't wait to finish their models at home.”

“Thanks for a great time for my two boys and me.  They love their models! “

Many participants bought kits and supplies before leaving the store.  One Dad and his boys were seen roaming the model aisle long after the event was over.  Store staff reported a dozen or so kits being purchased with the discount coupons provided.

The event was a huge success thanks to the sponsorship of IPMS, the support of Hobby Lobby and the efforts of the CSM volunteers.
