Make 'N Take Announcement - February 2010 !

IPMS/USA maintains an active program designed to introduce new modelers to the hobby (or to recapture older modelers by rekindling a past interest).

The Make 'N Take program is funded by contributions from our members and chapters, along with occasional donations or reduced-cost purchases from industry members, currently coordinated by our Community Activities Coordinator, James Brooks. James will be happy to coordinate with your Chapter by providing Make and Take supplies for your upcoming event. You can contact James at: make-n-take@ipmsusa.org

How It Works:

Upon verification of membership/charter information, the Community Activities Coordinator will work with your designated Make 'N Take coordinator to arrange the shipment of kits and supplies in advance of your event. Please order at least 30 days prior to your event and longer if possible.

There is no charge for Make 'N Take models – this activity is funded by you, the member, and your chapter, through donations and general IPMS/USA funds. However, due to increased shipping costs, beginning on July 19, 2011, IPMS requires a $1.00 per model shipping fee to offset shipping costs. After making your request, send a check to IPMS for $1.00 per model to:

IPMS/USA
PO Box 2475
North Canton, OH 44720.

Please make checks payable to IPMS/USA Make N Take.

We also have a 60 model per event limit and a cumulative limit of 100 models per calendar year per group or individual. Unusually large events, or requests for specific products not in our inventory can be accommodated upon special request and, may require some cost sharing on the part of the requestor.

Win-Win!

IPMS/USA views the Make 'N Take program as a winning opportunity for all involved. For the chapter, it's a great chance to "capture" local modelers who may not even be aware that there is a modeling club in their area. And don't just focus on the kids – while they are certainly the long-term future of our Society, there are many "baby boomers" out there that probably built a model or two in their younger days, and now have the time and disposable income to take up a hobby. These represent a great target audience and a potential for membership!

Manufacturers are winners too – at little or no cost to them, potential customers are caught up in the hobby.
