The IPMS/Legacy Chapter, although newly formed (Summer, 2003), has collectively almost 300 years of Membership in the International Plastic Modelers Society.  We hold with the goals and purpose of IPMS/USA.

     The credo "By Modelers - For Modelers" isn't just a motto with us.  We make every effort to enhance or improve our modeling skills and encourage others toward this goal as well.  To this end we have monthly meetings to share information, techniques, and best of all camaraderie! 

     Unlike other Chapters in IPMS/USA our chapter, IPMS/Legacy, is made up entirely of IPMS/USA members.  You must be a current IPMS member to join.  Because our members pay dues to the National Organization we keep our Chapter dues low. 

     Some of our members hail from around the nation.  We strictly try to avoid the “elitist” image and work hard to create an environment of camaraderie and learning.  Since the majority of our members are national contest winners we try to pass this knowledge on to who ever is inclined to pursue those goals.

     Since an IPMS Regional Coordinator has authored both of these, the author has requested they not be submitted for Website of the Year or Newsletter of the Year due to any presumed appearance of favoritism or conflict of interest issues. 

Mission Statement:

 IPMS Legacy is built upon the foundation and framework provided by IPMS/USA through their national constitution, by-laws and contest guidelines.  Legacy provides a connection to our national organization and heritage by helping fellow modelers improve their skills and achieve personal modeling goals. 

In doing this, we pledge to follow IPMS rules and guidelines, encourage improvement in modeling, demonstrate a commitment to excellence, build teamwork and camaraderie, and insist upon fairness and integrity in all chapter activities. 

     IPMS/Legacy has sponsored several auctions and have co-hosted various local contests.  Our members were instrumental in hosting 2 Regional Conventions as well.  Mostly we love to model and share our time with our friends.
