I started building plastic kits at the age of 5, I remember showing my grandmother the model under construction and she died when I was 5. That first model was a 1/72^nd scale FW-190, more than likely it was an Airfix kit.

     I grew up in East Grand Rapids, Michigan and joined my first IPMS chapter in 1975 or 76 and that club is still active, IPMS/West Michigan.

     In 1978 I joined the US Air Force to become a crew chief on fighters. I worked F-5Es at Nellis, and one of my jets is on the Super Scale decal sheet #72-312, aircraft 74-01531. I was an Aggressor for two years then went to England to crew the A-10A, two of my Hawgs are on decal sheets, the XtraDecal sheet USAFE #1 aircraft 81-0978 and J-Bot Decals for 80-0229. All totaled I crewed the A-10 for 16 of my 20 years in the USAF, I also worked RF-4Cs at Bergstrom AFB, Texas. In 1991, I was sent to King Khalid Military City in Saudi Arabia to perform Combat Turns on A-10s and did about 150 of them during the war. After retiring from the Air Force, I’m currently working for a company that has a government contract providing Transient Alert for Shaw AFB, SC. So anything that comes into Shaw that doesn’t have SW on the tail, we take care of. It’s a great job, you get to touch and "play with" all sorts of different types of aircraft.

     My modeling interests are 1/72^nd scale aircraft, basically anything from 1915 to present, 1/35^th armour all areas, 1/20^th – 1/43^rd race cars, normally Sportsprotypes, & Open Wheel cars, and Sci-Fi.

     I’ve been involved with numerous modeling clubs, we had one at RAF Bentwaters, UK that was chartered with IPMS/UK, and I’ve held offices positions in IPMS/Tacoma, North Fort Lewis Modeling Club, and IPMS/Sumter-Shaw AFB, SC where I’m the current Chapter Contact.
