    • Approved – The purchase of a phone for IPMS use by National Office Manager that enables the use of credit card/debit card purchases, providing for use of a virtual terminal, as well as a card scanner. This item will significantly contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of available technology and managing IPMS business.

    • June 2012 IPMS/USA 2012 National Convention Update
    • Registrations:
      • 270 Adults
      • 5 Junior
      • 31 Fantasy of Flight tours
      • 50 Kennedy Space Center tours (Have met the break even on this tour)
      • 131 Adult Banquets (need 200 to meet food and beverage sales)
      • 2 Child Banquet
      • 90 Judges
      • 97 T-Shirts
      • 50 additional Pins
      • 151 Guests with the registrants (Was 74 in June)
    • Trophy Sponsorships:
      • Convention hosts report that they are still receiving trophy sponsorships and are still light in several categories (Armor, Figures, Automotive, Ships, Dioramas and Misc.) It is possible to take sponsorships up almost until the show as the sponsor's name is not on the trophy.
      • All overall awards are sponsored.
      • One theme subject not sponsored.
    • Sponsorships:
      • A few of the advertising panel sponsorships have been received in the past few weeks.
    • Room Reports:
      • Room Bookings have slowed, but booking rooms continues. There have been some cancellations, but not enough to cause any concern.
    • Convention Decals:
      • Check has been sent. Should be ready mid-July
    • Convention Website Update:
      • There have not been a lot of updates on a regular basis as plans firm up.
      • Changed some wording to help prevent any confusion. Mainly contest registration to convention registration.

  • Dick Montgomery, Secretary
    • There are 5 functioning programs within the Support the Troops Initiative.
      • The Camp Smith program is being organized by Wes Macon, an IPMS member, and is being strongly supported by his home chapter and IPMS Region, as well as supported by former RC/EB member Tim Darrah.
      • One international program was removed from the website upon the request of the on site organizer until some local issues could be worked out.
      • A number of chapters and individuals organize donations to a local facility independently of the IPMS STT Initiative as seen in their newsletters or Facebook pages. All chapters are encouraged to organize a local program, and to share that info with IPMS/USA so that their program and Point of Contact can be placed on the IPMS/USA website. Doing so will make it easier for modelers to contact the organizer and make a donation to a program near them.
      • AMPS clubs and members are now making donations through their own channels having heard about the STT from some of the IPMS members who also hold membership in AMPS.

    • Nominations, Posting and Voting for Chapter, Website, and Newsletter of the Year were completed this month, with the recipients being announced during the Awards Banquet in Orlando.

    • Annual Total for 2012 (includes future events already requested or mailed out)

    • Most Make'N Take orders filled directly by Revell. Order system seems to work very smoothly with most orders shipped from Revell within 1 day after being requested.
    • Moebius Models donation arrived to Jim Brooks in Illinois—about a pallet's worth of models. Most models are figure kits –some very large. Being distributed as raffle prizes for clubs and as alternatives for Make N Takes and ABC program..
    • Cross-check to results for the Journal Calendar completed for recent issue published in June. Only one problem reported to me but that was because the club changed the location of their show after the issue went to press. Their "point out" was more for correction in a future issue than a "problem report".

  • MJ Kinney, National Office Manager
    • Special Products have been ordered for sale at the convention. The Special Awards for Webmaster, Newsletter, Chapter and RC have also been ordered. All will be in my hands by July 15th .
    • The Regional Chapters of the Year plaques will be ready Monday and will be mailed.
    • The May-June V24J3 issue of the journal was mailed to 4,467 – V24J2 was mailed to 4,482. To date in 2012 we have 297 new members compared to 265 this time last year.
