Staff in Attendance or via submission of report

  • MJ Kinney, National Office Manager
    • IPhone has been purchased, have made application for the retail account for the credit card usage at the convention and will have the card reader next week.  The retail account will be open only for July and August to handle the convention purchases.
    • 403 credit cards have been processed for the convention this year – while payments by check have only numbered 114.  Also, there appear to be folks coming from Brazil, Argentina, Australia, UK and Venezuela.
    • We have 312 new members to date this year and many that have rejoined.  As of today we will be mailing V24J4 to 4455 members, however the labels will not be going to the printers until the end of this week, so that number will “grow”.
    • The 2013 checking account has been opened, checks have arrived and I have asked Chuck Holte for a flyer to start getting the word out about the 2013 convention.
    • I sent an email to Legal Counsel Kal Saloom regarding the 2014 logo
  • Forum Admin - Dennis Tennant
    • IPMS/USA Discussion forum update through mid-July, 2012
      • No major issues with the discussion forums. A couple of individuals are having difficulties following the forum rules but they are being monitored on a daily basis.
    • Here's the numbers as of July 13, New forum topics:
      • 1061 new topics YTD
      • 4230 new posts since January 1, 2012
    • Membership additions:
      • 76 new registrations since first of year.
      • Of those 76
        • 27 were members (requests from general public),
        • 49 were IPMS/USA members (paid-up IPMS/USA members.
    • Topic views top five (with number of views):
      • Aircraft  (7869)
      • Forum FAQ    (5837)
      • General Modeling   (3852)
      • Armor  (3803)
      • IPMS/USA Topics   (3410)
    • More traffic is coming to the IPMS/USA Topics area and it has jumped into the top five this month for the first time this year. The national convention topic area has yet to break the top ten most likely because members go directly to the Web site to have their questions answered.
    • I plan to prune the forums a bit in the next week or so. I'll be removing the "Sweet Deals" forum for lack of participation as there have only been 4 topics posted since it was created in March. As always, I'll be looking for a replacement that'll generate interest and participation from the forum membership.

  • Webmaster – Eric Aitala
    • Edits and repairs to website:
      • Fixed review author / IPMS # issue on Reviews website.  Now can have multiple authors with or without an IPMS number. Fixes database issues as well - having the name & number in same field was not good database design.
      • Updated Online Store to remove Nats 2012 tour items since tours are fully booked
      • Will need to upgrade Online Store software after the Nats
      • Forum update still in planning stage - need to update billing/CC info for software.
      • Made some changes to Gallery albums for Mark A and Larry R
      • Working on new Event Calendar system for the form. Very preliminary, not for public access yet. This will provide a number of new features, such as a map of where events are located and for the DLC to moderate the submitted events directly w/o having to cut&paste info from emails.
      • Working on a new main website design which will work on phones and tablets.  Also very preliminary, not for public access yet.
      • IPMS/USA - Main web site
