AFV Modeller

AFV Modeller Magazine

Reviewed By John Bonanni, #13440

This is the thirteenth issue of AFV Modeller, which is one of the best modeling magazines on the market. The issue has 64 high quality and colorful pages.  It features not only modeling articles but reference articles as well.  Each article has comprehensive text and clear high quality images.

"Red Death, White Fields" is the first article.  This article encompasses a full step by step view of how MIG Jimenez creates his fabulous diorama.  It describes how he paints his white washed T-34-76 and blown up Panzer IV F/2.  There are also photos showing the finished diorama that MIG has created.

Antonio Martin Tello shows off his diorama entitled "Train Spotting" in the second modeling article.  Photos describe how he makes the vehicles and base by showing the construction and finishing phases.

"Panzer!" is the title of the third article. This short article explains how Hyung Tae Kim created his small diorama.  Dragon's T-34/85 is used for the vehicle in his diorama.  The diorama describes a situation on the Eastern Front where a division of German SS soldiers are advancing past a disabled T-34/85.

In the next article Lee Lloyd describes basic scale welding techniques.  This highly detailed and comprehensive article shows how to create realistic weld seams.

This issue's Xtreme Detail highlights Sweden's Strv 122.  This article has 58 clear photos with descriptive text showing the exterior of the vehicle.

The last part of the issue has a roundup of the spectacular Euromilitaire model show.  This article has a wonderful photo gallery showing some of the best models ever built.

This bimonthly magazine is highly recommended for any military modeler. I would like to thank John Noack and AFV Modeller for this review sample.
