AFV Modeller Magazine #19

There I was, minding my own business when John Noack sends me this issue, a sure cure for modelers block!  Now the wife has a grimace, I have kitty cat grin and the wallet is a little lighter.  When I opened  issue #19 to the first article I knew I was in some deep dung.  Talk about Motley Crue getting back together, this was serious kick start my heart!!!  Part Two of Red Tide Rising is an outrageous diorama built by two modelers, Carlos Elias and Abillio Grajera.  The subject is about a bedspring T-34/85 coming up on a deserted, floor breaking, burnt out Panther tank submerged in rubble located in a late war German factory setting. The Panther camouflage is exceptional and new while the craftsmanship of the rest of the piece is breathtaking.  There are 54 pictures to support the article which no doubt will help any modeler in a future build, with particular attention to the rubble making.  Alone, this diary is worth the price!

Next on this issues agenda is an utterly mind blowing article on the new Trumpeter 1/16 T-34/76 with full interior.  Pictures are included of the real deal with full interior shots to make sure the monster you build will be locked on with accurate colors.  Special features included are additional turret casting and detailed color of the lovely interior in this kit.  If you own the Trumpeter T-34, you have to have this Issue!  As a treat, included is a special photo shoot of the T-34/76 recovered in 2003 from a swamp in Velikyle Luki.  The tank was lost in 1942-43 and is in an amazing state of preservation.  A must see.

Euro Militare, 2004 is covered with the first part in this issue.  The quality of work is beyond belief and if you enjoy seeing show coverage pictures from master craftsman, this will be a treat!

Rounding out this exceptional installment is a build feature on a Brummbar!  Painstaking step by step pictures reveal a copy of the unit now residing at Kubinka.

This series continues to teach novice builders tricks and technique with plenty leftover for the pro to learn.  Grab a copy today before they are all gone!  Thanks to John Noack for the review sample and Happy Holidays!
