AFV Modeller Magazine #21

Reviewed By Mark Aldrich, #39295

MSRP: $16.00 USD

When I received Issue 21 of this magazine I had not realized that the last time I actually got one was Issue 8.  It has been a while since then.  This one is even better than number 8 was!

Again, it contains 65 pages, all in color.  It covers the building of three kits in riveting detail, two dioramas, a photo array of a preserved IDF M50, six pages of recent releases, and five pages of advertisements (including back cover).

The built models and dioramas include a Late Panther G from Tamiya, a heavily modified Crusader from Italeri, a Aufklarungspanzer 140/1 from VM, a T-34/76(1940) meets a SdKfz221, and an abandoned Henschel Jagdtiger.  The M50 photo layout is six pages long with eight photos to a page.

As with Issue 8, this is an incredible tome designed specifically for the armor modeler.  It is well photographed, well designed and very well printed on heavy stock paper.  These kits were again built with some brand name aftermarket products, and the Crusader builder (Ricardo Rodriguez) used lots and lots of styrene.

The American distributor’s website is www.wiseowlmagazines.com.  A surface mail subscription will run you $69.00, and is well worth it.
