Periscopio Publications have sent another selection of
their fine modeling magazines for review. Please refer to my
previous web reviews for my overall impressions of these magazines. I received a recent issue of the general modeling magazine Model Expert. This is in full-color and the quality of modeling and photography is excellent. Contents of Issue 54 include build articles on the Spitfire V, Nakajima Gekko, the Dragon Wagon, Suzuki ZX12R motorcycle and a Samurai warrior figure. Once again, the articles are in Greek, but the quality of the models and photography somewhat makes up for this. These are available from the publishers at $8 per issue, post-free. Also new from this company is a special about two prominent European armor- and figure-modeling shows. Again, the text is Greek, but this time, there are English captions. There are over 200 full-color photos of figures and armor models to pore over. The quality of the work often leaves one breathless! This book is available from the publishers at $8. With the understanding that the majority of their titles are in Greek, I can recommend these publications for their wonderful photos and models.
