MSRP: $35.00 USD Well folks it’s here! The Black Box Cockpit Set is available for the new Tamiya 1/32 F-16CJ Block 50 kit. I picked this sample up on Feb 19, 2005 while attending the BlizzCon show in Columbus, Ohio. If you thought the Tamiya F-16 kit cockpit was awesome - this one takes it to a whole new level of detail. This sample is beautifully molded with no pin holes whatsoever. The ACES II ejection seat is very well detailed and features molded on harnesses. The cockpit tub has a ton of detail including the molded on oxygen and g-suit hoses. There is also a myriad of detail behind the seat and on the rear bulkhead and canopy deck. Even the cross-hatched access panels on the cockpit tub side walls are wonderfully reproduced. Also, included are the cockpit side walls, ejection seat rails, instrument panel, flight stick and HUD. A set of nice instructions with pictures and paint color references is included. The parts are neatly placed in four separate bags to prevent breakage and packed in their typical sturdy box with Black Box logo. The only issue I could find, at least with my sample, is that the ejection seat rail assembly is slightly warped. But this is something that could be easily remedied. This set is consistent with Black Box’s high level of detail and quality and is highly recommended. Available from www.vmdstudios.com and other fine hobby shops everywhere. |
