One of the biggest drawbacks of all the Bf-109 kits on the market is the complex shape of the spinner and the prop blades.  The Hasegawa spinners are too bulbous and this throws off the look of the whole model.  The Hobbycraft spinners are too short, as is the Monogram one.  A Canadian firm, Fusion, has engineered new spinners that are easy replacements for the kit items.  Finally, there are spinners with teardrop openings and correct shaped blades.  The teardrop openings are a nice touch that is normally missed in replacement spinners.

The first thing you will notice is that there are no pour stubs on the spinners themselves and the pour stubs for the blades is so small that you don’t even need to saw them off.  Just carefully grab the prop blade at the stub and break it off.  In the past the hardest part of an aftermarket spinner has been to get the blades positioned properly and at the same angle of attack.  Fusion provides a tool and template to aid this task.  The template ensures that the blades are at 120 degrees apart and the tool ensures that the props are at the same fore and aft angle and pitch.

I highly recommend all of these spinners and prop blades.  They will add a lot to the nose of your Bf-109.  The parts can be purchased directly from Fusion at www.dp9.com/fusion.
