This is just a preview without actually building the Attack Hobby model of the 15cm sIG 33 version of the highly reliable Czech Hetzer (only about 30 were made).  Attack has been producing variants of the Panzer 38(t), Hetzer and the German 15cm sIG 33 infantry gun (“reliable and robust”, “…largest caliber infantry gun” according to Ian Hogg) so it was only natural they would release this kit.

The single sheet, 5 step exploded view instructions are clear, but you should dry fit before cementing.  Detail is nice and sharp, with excellent link and length track (they left teeth off the drive sprocket where it wraps around, and sprocket lightning holes are indicated but not drilled).  This vehicle was topless (though not as open as the Bison or Grille), so you can see the nicely detailed 15cm sIG 33 and interior which includes transmission, drive shaft, driver’s seat and instrument panel, ready rounds, fire extinguisher, radio, compartments and more! I didn’t see any ejection marks that need attention but the cannon barrel itself needs work or replacement.  The fine molded separate tow cable, jack and sand-shields are well done.  The small Extratech decal sheet simply provides two styles of crosses and markings are shown for two Eastern front vehicles, one overall Panzer yellow and the other with three color camouflage.

It’s not a state of the art kit for beginners, but it’s recommended for anyone else who wants a 15cm sIG 33 auf Jgd Pz 38(t) Hetzer!  Thanks to Attack Hobby Kits for the review sample.  Their kits are readily available or you can contact Attack Hobby Kits, Herrmanna 4, CZ-77900 Olomouc, Czech Republic +42 05 85 22 84 19 fax www.attack-hobby-kits.cz.
