When I received this kit to review I was impressed by the Box Artwork. As I opened the kit itself I was impressed by all the parts, 230 of them and 60 pieces of link and length track. All parts cleaned easily and a few had the old ‘sinkholes’ to fill but none that were easy to see. Although most pieces went together easily there were a few that one had to pay close attention to for direction and fit.

A small sheet of Clear Acetate is given and represents the lenses for the periscopes. After cutting the glass it must be added to the vehicle Chassis and Turret from the inside. Of course if you are displaying a vehicle in action you will have to scratch build vision blocks and set them in place also. The next little to do was the turret basket and the wire screen given for its floor. A few test fittings and a few swear words added to my six thumbs it finally came together.

There were several small spaces or gaps that needed to be filled and was quite easy with small amounts of putty. The Intake Screens need to be carefully watched when placing as they give the impression of sagging.

Overall the kit is easy to build for beginners and I’m sure can be improved quite handily by those so inclined to do so. On the other hand, it is for young builders, the next step towards a more complex model than normal and for this alone I would recommend it.

The Tracks as mentioned are Link and Length and fit together easily with minor trouble. I used Model Masters Liquid Cement which allows enough time to complete a run before setting hard.

The instructions offer two versions for painting:  194th Brigade Task Force 1-70 AR (tri-color scheme) and the U.S. Army Central Command/ Kuwait (Sand/Green).  I had no trouble getting the kit decals to settle with Micro-Sol. Remember to cover the lenses before spraying.

Modern Armor is not my venue but I was impressed by its size when finished. It’s nice just to build a kit from the box once in a while.
