Panzer Graph!

Magazine for Military Modelers

Issue #2, Autumn 2005

Reviewed By Jack Bruno, #25313

From the makers of Model Art, comes a new quarterly book/ on modeling panzer's.  It's very big at 164 pages and is roughly the size of Panzer Colors (by Squadron) on steroids, so it will fit nicely on your book shelf.  Between the covers are pages full of color illustrations and products coming out or already here.  Among them, photo-etched parts, new Panzer IV kits, figures and plenty enough built dioramas to go around.

One of the more interesting subjects is a Syrian Panzer IV Ausf J in the Golan Heights during the 1967 War.  Happily, this is one of the few articles that are translated to English in the back pages.  The rest of the text is in Japanese.  The pictures are plenty and the illustrations magnificent.  I truly love the close up color shots of the PE mounted to the kits and small parts that show placement on the subject as well.  With this in mind, translations are moot.

There are several nice line drawings covering the Panzer IV from the Ausf A through the Ausf J.  It was also interesting to see a featured article by an under 18 modeler. (This issues rookie...by the way, nice Tiger I.)

There is a touch of everything in this publication to make you a little bit more informed and give you stock for ideas with future endeavors.  But, it is not a do all say all in the field of the Panzer IV.  Alas, that might be a drawback to some... but pictures are worth... well, you know!  Feel free to check out www.modelart.jp, there is an English translation link.  Thanks to Model Art for the review sample and to John Noack for passing it on.  Cheers!
