On the heels of the release of the new Tamiya kit of the Char B1 bis comes this new book from Model Art Co., Ltd. The book has 64 pages in both English and Japanese that cover the history, development, and life of the Char B1 bis.

The first section deals with the history of the tank and its development. It tells you the difference between the B1 and B1 bis along with some wartime photos. It also tells of the vehicle in both French and German service, along with 1:35 plans and eight different camouflage schemes. The rest of the book gives detailed shots of the real vehicle from numerous angles to aid the super detailer.

You also get a thorough pictorial review of the interior, if you are really into AMS (advanced modeling syndrome), but I suppose it's just a matter of time before we see an aftermarket interior. Still, the photos will be of great value in getting it down to the last nut and bolt!

The photos in the book are not large at all, but you get more per page and they really tell the story of this vehicle. It covers the tank from top to bottom, inside and out. If you want to build a super detailed Char, this book will give you all of the information you need. A really wonderful book published with the model builder in mind, and a must-have book if you want to build this model.
