As usual, Model Art No. 748 May 2008 is in almost 100% Japanese language. The format is close to 7x10 inches in size, and as usual, the printing and reproduction quality is excellent.

[JMSDF Aegis class destroyers] The May 2008 issue cover shows the major feature of this month - Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Aegis destroyers. Pages 13-56 illustrate diagrams, color layouts of deck markings, models, dioramas, photos of the real ships and even support ships and helicopter models. In short, everything you always wanted to know about JMSDF Aegis destroyers but were afraid to ask.
[F22 Raptor comparison ] Other featurettes include a comparison of 1/72 F22 Raptor kits by Italeri and Revell, new kit reviews of Waveline's new 1/700 early Oyodo light cruiser, Aeroclub's 1/48 De Havilland DH89 Dragon Rapide biplane, Dragon's 1/35 Jagdpanther Ausf.G1, Trumpeter's 1/35 Soviet PT-76 Amphibious tank Model 1951, a 1/24 Scuderia Ferrari, Tamiya's 1/700 RN Repulse and the Battle of Malaya Set including Prince of Wales and 3 destroyers, Hasegawa's 1/72 B24D Liberator, SilverLine 1/43 BMW F2 race car metal kit, 18 pages of new release notifications, the usual many pages of ads, with a report on the 2007 Joyful Modeler's Convention of Hasegawa showing several pages of outstanding masters' models.

All in all, typical timely fare from another monthly Model Art modeling magazine - something for aircraft, armor, auto and ship enthusiasts (not much on figures or sci-fi categories this time). Modelers of JMSDF Aegis class destroyers will really need this one as a reference.
Recommended if you want to keep up to date with new trends coming from Japan.
