As usual, Model Art No. 754 (8) August 2008 issue is in almost 100% Japanese language. The format is close to 7x10 inches in size, and as usual, the printing and reproduction quality are excellent. Most of the articles and reviews (but not the featurettes or ads) are mostly in color.

The August 2008 issue cover shows the major feature of this month - "How To Build Ferrari Road Cars." Pages 20-52 have separate articles detailing different areas of building, detailing and modifying large-scale Ferrari car model kits, using a 1/24 scale Ferrari F40, Hasegawa's 1/24 1950 Ferrari 250 Testarossa and a 1/24 scale Enzo Ferrari. The second main feature is Fujimi's new 1/350 scale IJN Kongo battleship (pages 6-17), including the detail sets. The pictured model has sailors lining the rails. Ten pages are devoted to a major model show in Japan, with new kits and completed models pictured. The text is Japanese, but the numerous pictures get the points across and offer many tips for enhancing these models. After a few pages of ads, the featurettes begin. Waveline's 1/700 Yukikaze in 1953 fit and another ten pages of ads precede the new kit reviews:
  1. Dragon 1/35 Panther B with Zimmerit;
  2. Tamiya 1/48 F-16C Brock 25/32;
  3. Trumpeter 1/48 Hawker Sea Fury FB.11; and
  4. Airfix 1/72 BAe Systems Nimrod antisubmarine patrol plane.
A small set of color plans for JASDF U-125A jet is next, followed by Garage 43+, featuring the 1/43 scale kit of Ford's Shadow DN3 Indy racer. Twelve pages of tiny reviews of new kits are followed by the usual 20 pages of ads.

Mostly autos and battleships this issue - very little armor or aircraft. The section on building sports cars is helpful for beginners or anyone wishing to try new techniques to produce show-quality models. Recommended if you want to keep up to date with new trends coming from Japan, and need help building sports cars.
