The 36th Panzer Regiment was the primary armor unit of the 14th Panzer Division. During the Invasion of the Soviet Union, the 14th PD operated as part of III Korps, Army Group South. During the spring and summer of 1942, the division fought in the Don and Volga regions. The division eventually operated under von Paulus' Sixth Army, being totally destroyed in the Stalingrad encirclement in early 1943.

One of the latest Archer Fine Transfers sheet allows panzer modelers to recreate up to three Pz. IV Ausf F tanks assigned to the 4th company, 1st battalion, 36th Panzer Regiment, 14th PD, when it was attachment to von Kleist's Army Group from February through May of 1942. Both examples are in panzer gray finish. The sheet, measuring only about 2 x 3 inches, is packed with 44 transfers. There is also a full color instruction sheet, showing placement details and information on using dry transfers.

Having used dry transfers on armor for quite some time, I find the Archer transfers to be of excellent quality. They are easy to apply, adhere well to painted surfaces, conform well to surface details and perform well with setting solutions. This set is no exception. I had no problems adding the division symbol over the locking clamp on the stowage box as illustrated by the photo.

The only negative that I can say is that I have found no photographic references to the vehicles of the 4th company. That doesn't mean that I am debating the accuracy of the markings. I do think that it would have been beneficial for Archer to at least list any source material available for further research.

I highly recommend this Archer Fine Transfer set to any panzer modeler.
Thank you to Archer for the review sheet, and fellow Reviewers Corps member Patrick Keenan for the opportunity to review this for IPMS/USA.
