1/32 F-15C Late Cockpit Set For the Tamiya F-15C

MSRP: $50.00 ($39.99 on the street) Aires Web Site: (www.aires.cz) Aires keeps the great resin and PE coming, with a cockpit designed for the 1/32 Tamiya F-15C Eagle. The set is comprised of 14 resin parts and approximately 50 PE pieces with a film piece for the instruments. It replaces the entire kit cockpit and seat and adds detail to the canopy also. The resin casting is flawless and only requires removal of the casting blocks. Fit of the instrument panel and sidewalls to the large resin cockpit is perfect. The instruments themselves are handled by about a dozen PE pieces and also film backing while some of the knobs need added from various sizes of plastic rod. Sidewall detail is excellent in the cockpit and rear avionics bay. A good painting, washing and dry brushing will make this look superb. One sidewall is separate which eases the painting and also allowed Aires to cast the side with even more detail. The handles on top of the electrical equipment are superb but do require removal of small amounts of flash from casting. There is a very nicely cast ACES II ejection seat which is enhanced by the addition of 7 PE pieces. The seat belts to the kit are not molded in but are made from multiple PE parts and separate buckles. The ejection rails are cast separately and enhanced by additional PE parts. In addition to the above parts, there is also a beautiful PE HUD and locks for the canopy. This set is beautiful and when added to the already excellent Tamiya kit will make a show stopper. My thanks to IPMS and Aires for the chance to review this excellent set. Highly recommended.
