1/32 F-105 Ejection Seat For the Trumpeter F-105 kit.

MSRP: $21.95 Web Site: www.aires.cz Want to dress up your Trumpeter F-105 kit? Aires has produced a beautiful resin and photoetch representation of the ejection seat used in both D and G versions. Here's a site with more info about the seat (www.ejectionsite.com/f105seat.htm). The resin parts are the main seat body, the headrest and ejection seat handles. The PE parts detail out the seat and include the armrests, the leg restraints and a very complete and multi-piece version of the harness. Construction of the seat is straightforward and the resin is excellent to work with - not too soft and not too hard. I ground out under the seat using my Dremel Stylus and a saw/grinding bit combo. It cleans up well and gives a nice impression of the seat bottom. The rest of the resin parts were added and then washed with dish soap to remove any mold release. I chose to go ahead and install, the belts prior to painting the seat - theirs advantages either way. I do it this way as I prime resin and PE before painting which I did with Floquil primer. After dry, I painted the seat with aircraft interior gray and paint the cushion and arm rests red. The belts were painted light green and the seat khaki. I sealed with Dullcoat and applied a dark wash. Drybrushing finished the build and I sealed again The seat is gorgeous and goes together very well. I recommend it thoroughly to dress up the F-105.
