TF-104G Starfighter Cockpit set For the 1/48 Hasegawa's TF-104G

MSRP: $38.95 Web Site: www.aires.cz/en/ What we have here is a resin and photoetch cockpit upgrade for Hasegawa's TF-104G. The set includes a cockpit tub, four sidewalls, two instrument panels and cowls as well as two Martin Baker seats all in smooth gray resin with no voids or pinholes to be seen. Also included is an elaborate photoetch sheet with all the seat belts, ejection pull downs, rudder pedals and instrument panel details. There is an acetate sheet for the dials as well. The instruction sheet and diagrams are clear and easy to follow. Construction is simple and the fit of the resin parts is good. There are a few modifications to apply to the kit fuselage and this leads us away from the novice builder. Experience with resin and photoetch are a must when using this set but you're rewarded with a great looking cockpit to upgrade your Starfighter. The photoetch belts are easily manipulated and go well on the seat. I had a little trouble with the instrument panel and the acetates but nothing that can't be worked out. The rudder pedals took some adjustments to get them past the center consoles but they look great. Aires has got me converted to their products, I've bought several different upgrades for various projects that are still on the shelf but I'm looking forward to building some of them soon.
