Quickboost is yet another aftermarket producer from the Czech Republic that has roared onto the scene with a large number of offerings covering topics previously not covered. So it is with this offering - exhausts pipes for the Accurate Miniatures (and Eduard re-release) Yak-1B. This is a simple set that provides crisp detail and open exhausts for a very modest price. The pipes are well placed on the resin pour stub, allowing easy access for painting and weathering. All you have to do then is cut them from the block and install them. While Quickboost provides no instructions, the Accurate Miniatures instructions are more than adequate. The AM instructions have you install a blanking plate at each exhaust port before assembling the fuselage halves. Then it is easy to add the replacement exhaust pipes after painting and finishing of the fuselage. The Quickboost pipes are properly shaped to provide the correct extension from the exhaust port. The only tricky part will be to ensure uniform spacing between pipes; however, the kit parts can be used as a guide for this effort. Recommended.
