MSRP: $6.95 (www.quickboost.net) Quickboost has produced another winner in resin detail parts! While the manufacturer recommends the Academy 1/72 F4U as the suggested kit for these Landing Gear doors, I'm sure they would work with almost any kit in this scale. There are six resin parts included in this set, replacing all three doors (inside, outside, and forward) for each landing gear bay. The doors are perfectly scaled, and nicely detailed, with no flash. The forward landing gear doors have the correct outline, where the kit doors are simplified by being molded a tad short at the bottom. The inside replacement gear doors have a slightly different outline from the kit doors, as well. All of the resin doors have correctly molded interior detail, where the kit doors are more simplified in their detail. The interior detail of all of the doors is crisply molded, which eliminates the aggravation of cleaning the ejector pin marks (all of the kit doors have them). Both the inside and outside doors have hinge detail, where the kit doors do not. This is a very nice touch! I did a brief online search, and found them available for slightly less than the MSRP. As I said earlier, I think Quickboost has produced another winner. If you're a fan of the Corsair, and like to build in 1/72 scale, then these replacement Landing Gear Doors will dramatically improve the quality of your model. They are highly recommended.
