As we know by now, Quickboost provide a line of resin parts that are designed to improve or correct plastic model kit details. They are produced by Aires of the Czech Republic and cater to those modelers who want their models to be just a little bit more accurate. They continue to expand their line at an amazing rate.

This review sample provides a great replacement for the unique fishtail exhausts of the Spitfire Mk. V. The kit is designed for the Tamiya kit of this Spitfire. The close-up photo of the resin exhausts shows the very fine detail that Quickboost are able to provide with these parts. These parts are interchangeable with the kit parts.

I was not able to find the Tamiya kit but my stash included three other kits of this Mark Spitfire from Airfix, Heller and ProModeler (Revell). A quick check showed that all three of these older kits also offered separate exhaust stacks. It quickly became apparent that the Quickboost parts can readily be used on these kits also. Many times, a simple little addition like these exhausts can give one of the older, simpler kits extra life. Photos show the parts from the Airfix and Heller kits as well as a completed Promodeler Spitfire. Note the relative crudeness of the exhausts from the kits.

These resin parts are well recommended for anyone building a Spitfire Mk. V kit and wanting to improve the details. No special skills are required install these parts.

A big thanks to Quickboost for providing these samples.
