This series enables the modeler to quickly boost the quality level of your model to a much higher degree with minimal work. These samples I received are all in 1/72, medium grey, flash free resin that separates from its plug with just a few saw strokes. Some are available in other scales. Most 1/72 scale models either have no gunsight or have a basic representation of one, so it is a welcome surprise to see Quickboost produce this Revi C/12D, with other German and other nations' gunsights to come. This gunsight was used on several FW-190s, Bf-109s, the Bf-110, Ju-87 and other aircraft so you are sure to use these. There are six gunsights per set, each consists of a fine detailed resin base unit with two printed clear acetate reflective panels. Most modelers who make do with the kit provided gunsight, or make their own, usually have one clear reflective panel if they include one at all. Quickboost is true to the real Revi sight with the two panels, which are imprinted, not simply clear. A must addition for anyone whose sights are on true realism or winning contests! The three new replacement exhausts each have recessed holes in the end of each pipe so you don't have to drill them, plus they have exquisitely captured the shape of the real exhausts. The Typhoon has the distinctive fluted ends, and the Stukas have a stepped end; all are oval cross sectioned. Further, if the real exhaust pipes stood proud or separate from each individual exhaust pipe, then so do these. This would require a lot of fine carving and engraving if the kit plastic parts aren't molded that way. And though each is meant for the Academy or other brand kits, you could probably adjust them to fit whatever kit you have. The Bf-109G propeller not only provides the correct shaped propeller blades for the Hasegawa kit, but a spinner with attached backplate and a tool to assure perfect alignment. The FW-190F wide propeller blades are the only parts of all these that require a little trimming of resin flash away from the parts. That's easily accomplished by any modeler who has worked with resin parts before. Each blade has a locating pin like the Hasegawa part it's replacing, for proper alignment into the kit spinner. If you are entering contests you should definitely let the judges know you've replaced the kit parts because once attached and painted they look like they were part of the kit. And you'll leave admirers in amazement, wondering how you hollowed out and reshaped those exhaust pipes! Quickboost parts come in resealable clear plastic packaging which makes it easy to store, protect and find them when you need them. A quick look at their site showed they also have a line of armor under Plus Models, Calibre 72 and 35, Aires, etc. As a "quick boost" to simply upgrade your model, these parts certainly do the trick. For someone like myself with aging Mk I eyeballs and shaky hands, these perfect gunsights, propellers and seamless, hollowed out exhausts are really looking good and highly recommended!
