Griffon Model has released another addition to Dragon's "brummbar" kits. This particular kit is recommended for Dragon's 6460 or 6497 "Brummbar". Griffon model is an aftermarket producer of excellent quality photo-etch and metal barrels. They even make a hinge folding tool for those hard to make German folding fenders. You can see all their excellent after market products at their website.

Kit number L35A022 is designed to basically replace the interior with all brass parts. I looked at the Dragon website and they advertise a realistic floor texture for their "Brummbar" kits. Griffon even has textured tread plates to replace this on the Dragon kits as well. The Griffon updates state that is for either of these two Dragon kits. I am unsure if this would work on the other Dragon "Brummbar" kits or the Tamiya and Tristar kits.

Be prepared to be overwhelmed! This hop-up comes with four 2 ˝ x 6 ˝ frets, one 2 ˝ x 2 ˝ frets one 0.05 styrene rod, one 0.03 brass rod, one 0.02 brass rod and a 2 page double sided instruction sheet to try and have you assemble all the brass the proper way. The frets alone contain over 500 individual pieces. Some of course are large floor plate pieces but there is an easy 100 plus hex bolt heads that will need to be attached.

Along with the floor plates you get to assemble left and right ammunition ready racks, two radio sets that are mounted on the right side on the interior and two different chests that are located at the rear of the fighting compartment. You also get the chains that hold the fighting port plug when they are removed from the hull sides. The double sided instruction sheet appears to be pretty straight forward with the only issues I would have are the amount of very small pieces on this set. The other problem for me personally would be the round pieces that secure the rounds inside the hull. I am getting better at working with brass but trying to sand the round pieces would present a problem for me to overcome.

Overall I would have to recommend this kit to anyone who gets into photo-etch parts and loves to add the ultimate realism to their models. Special thanks to Griffon Models and Dragon Models USA for providing the kit and for IPMS/USA for providing a place for all modelers to see it.
