When I was told I would be getting the Tasca Cheek armor Firefly, I immediately started looking for certain items. Since I buy numerous items on eBay, I went looking for Firefly items and markings to go along with my Egyptian Firefly. I found both. This barrel came from a supplier in China and is an incredible addition to the already awesome Firefly kit.

I was surprised to find this simple addition. According to LionMarc's website, Passion models and LionMarc designed this barrel specifically for the Tasca Firefly.

The three parts to the barrel are contained in a vacuum sealed baggy, contained inside a zip-lock bag with cardboard backing. The parts consist of an aluminum turned barrel, a turned and machined brass locking ring and a brass machined muzzle brake. The muzzle brake is also hollowed out.

Assembly is straightforward with the pieces being glued together with either super glue or epoxy cement. When you compare the metal barrel with the Tasca plastic one, it appears to be a spot on replacement. The neat feature is the fact that you don’t need to worry about sanding the two Tasca halves.

So, was this a necessary purchase? Well, considering I paid a total of $6.00 for the barrel and shipping, you are darn straight it was necessary. Now that I sanded the plastic one and have this one as well, I can't go wrong. The keyed barrel has a great snug fit and even though it doesn't correct kit flaws, it does save time unless you enjoy sanding barrels and possibly filling in the seams.
