Lion Roar is a company out of China. I haven't heard of them before and this may be their first offering (it's not but is one of their first for figures- they do armor and ships also- ed.). If it is, they did a super job in producing German Insignia from WW II in 1/35th scale.

As can be seen in the photo, all insignia for a 1/35 figure is included on one photo etched fret. This set even included the gorget to hang around the neck. That's something you don't see every day.

I haven't put the insignia on any figures yet but they appear very well detailed and extremely thin to give a more realistic appearance. I would suspect that any molded in insignia on a plastic or resin figure would have to be sanded off to make a smooth mating surface for these photo etched parts.

The instructions are very detailed showing the exact location of each insignia. This comes in very handy if you do not want to buy a research book on insignia.

I was impressed and would recommend it to any figure modeler or diorama builder. It is so much better than trying to paint on the insignia and not getting it right.

I wish to thank Lion Roar for giving us this to review and John Noack for giving it to me.
