I was happy to see Hasegawa reissue these kits as I have several of the "Eggplanes" but not the F-15. The kit comes in a sturdy top opening box - great for holding the parts as you work on the model. There are twenty light Gray plastic parts and one crystal clear canopy for the F-15 Eagle and a colorful decal sheet. The canopy is loose in the box allowing it to be scratched up a bit, but a little polishing and a dip in Future took care of that problem. Considering this is a humorous kit I was surprised to see Instrument panels on the decal sheet. The F-15 has a large pilot that doesn't look too bad. To be on the safe side I did add a little weight to the nose of the F-15

Now lets proceed with the build. As there are several F-15s stationed at the airport near me I started with the F-15, I also have the F-14 kit. I found on the kit I have that the locating holes were a little tight so I drilled them out to fit the pins. The upper fuselage is a bit wider than the bottom part and will required a little filler and Mr. Surfacer worked find here. There is a fairly large gap on the lower surfaces of the wings that required filling and a minor bit of filler required around the intakes.

[review image] I use the new Tamiya extra thin glue that causes the plastic to melt and will fill small seams/gaps in the plastic parts A little bit of sanding here and there and we're ready for the paint shop. I used the recommended colors call outs. FS numbers are included on the plans, better than a lot of high priced kits out there allowing me to use my preferred Testors Model Master paints. I did paint the intakes on the F-15 Insignia Red instead of Black just to add a little more color and I can't remember ever seeing a Black FOD intake cover.

The decals went on over a coat of Future with no trouble at all with the only trouble being that the upper left wing national insignia is almost the same shade as the camouflage color and it is all but invisible.

All in all a fun build. Now to drag one of my other "Eggplanes" off the shelf. Lets see F-86, SR-71, Fw-190 etc so many choices so little time. See finished top photos.
