Brief History: The F-117 production decision was made in 1978 with a contract that was awarded to Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Known as the skunk works located in Burbank California. The first F-117 flight over the Nevada test ranges was on June 18, 1981 only 31 months after the full scale development decision.

The very first F-117A was delivered in 1982, and the last delivery in 1990. During Operation Desert Storm in 1991 F-117's had flown almost 1,300 missions and scored direct hits on 1,600 high value targets.

In the box: The Aircraft is a rebox of kit# 61059 and the Humvee is a downsized version of the 1/35 scale kit previously released. You get 4 sets of black sprues, a set of masks, 1 set of white sprue and decals for 2 aircraft and 1 sprue clear parts. You also get 3 sets of tan sprues 1 clear sprue 4 rubber tires and decals for 3 vehicles. A very nice full box!

Building the F-117A: The kit comes with engraved panel lines detailed Bombay , you can choose to have it open or closed, II choose closed as I also choose the canopy in the closed position. The kit is pretty much straight forward with only 16 steps and goes together quite well to produce a highly detailed model of the F-117A nighthawk.

Building the Humvee: This is the Tamiya 1/35 scale offering down sized to 1/48 scale and looks like it should build up into a very nice representation of the Humvee. Just looking at this kit and you can see the highly detailed quality for a 1/48 scale kit. The only issue I could find are the doors if you want to display them open you'll have injection pin marks to sand off and fill, other than that it's a great little kit and goes together quite well to represent the Humvee.

[review image] Decaling and Painting the Kit: I chose to paint the F-117A with a rattle can of flat black, and then decaled per instruction. The Humvee was painted with Model Master® enamel tan thinned with a touch of white and then decaled per instructions and shot with coat of flat clear.

Highly recommended: Both kits went together very nicely with no fit issues what so ever.
