MSRP: £7.99 GBP Following on the heals of the First Look and receiving the decals from JMC Enterprises for replacing the pre-painted ones, I just wanted to see what the issues would be to build this kit out of the box. The first thing to be noticed is that the instructions give you no idea what the paint colors are for any touchup. As you can see, the lasers, and the tops of the R2 unit have missing paint from the sprue attachment points. |

| The engines and the pilot's seat also had points that needed to be touched up. The lasers I painted gun metal, the seat and engines I was able to match the black and the green. The only thing that I could not match was the red on the R2, because this is a custom color for all Republic vehicles. I found the formula in the instructions for the Republic Star Destroyer - 25% reddish brown, matt (Revell #37) + 70 % carmin red, matt (Revell #36) + 5% anthracite grey, matt (Revell #9). Did not have the colors so my R2 has damage for the time being. | |

| Assembly is straight forward. Being a snap together kit some of the joints would benifit from glue. The radiator wings have four prominant injection pin marks on the insides that need to be filled and sanded which will cause you to have to repaint the panels. The rear of the cockpit would need to be patched and filled - now I know why only Jedi can fly these starfighters - they need the force to hold in the air... | |

| From the two pictures below you can see that the canopy to fuselage fit is very poor - don't know what you could do to fix it. On the front glass, you again suffer from attachment points without any grey paint. The gray paint that they used on the clear parts is not the same shade as the unpainted grey plastic. | |

| For those who want to make a great model, this kit would be a good starting point. With the available of the JMC decals (from CultTVman.com) you can recreate this kit into an award wining model, if the force is with you. | |
