MSRP: $5.85 Review item supplied by Dragon Models: www.dragonmodelsusa.com . I begin this review with a statement of bias. I like Gunze products and use them in all aspects of my modeling. When I was given the opportunity to review Mr. Mix II I relished the idea. I was not disappointed. Mr. Mix II consists of two metal spoons and two squeeze pipettes. These items are bundled in a simple see-through package in a clear cello bag. The spoons appear to be made of aluminum but I have no way of knowing with any certainty. The function of these tools is simple. The spoons allow the modeler to measure, transport, and pour a very small and controlled amount of paint. The same is true for the pipettes, which can hold a much larger quantity of liquid than can the spoons. Each spoon can hold about 2 drops of Gunze paint. This small capacity makes it very easy to measure out small amounts of paint. This facility is vastly important if one is mixing paint according to a "drop by drop" formula. The metal spoons are sturdy and have sufficient strength to last for many years. The plastic pipettes will probably not last as long as the spoons, but they are sufficient for their purpose. In my experimentation with these tools I determined that the pipettes would better serve me as a carrier for paint thinner rather than the paint itself. The pipettes are also "graduated", with a set of hash marks running the length of the pipette. Clean up is a breeze. The plastic pipettes do not need clean up since I use them for paint thinner, but a little Windex or water sloshed around in the pipette will assure one of a clean pipette for the next use. The spoons are very easy to clean, with just a swipe of a rag or a paper towel. Every now and then a simple product can make a big difference in the amount of ease and convenience one experiences while enjoying the hobby. Mr. Mix II is just such a product. Durable, accurate in measurement, easy to use and to clean up, I highly recommend this simple and inexpensive tool. My thanks to Dragon Model USA for the change to review this neat tool.
