As modelers, we are always looking for better tools. I believe we have found one in this saw. The saw is a wooden handle with a steel tongue. The tongue has two threaded holes in it co-responding to two holes on the blade. The blade is about the size of the old fashion double edge razor blade. It has two cutting edges, one very fine and the other is even finer. The saw kit comes with a spare blade and several spacer blocks and longer screws. These blocks will allow you to space the blade farther away from the handle if you so choose.

The blade is sharp so be very careful with it. I tried it out on a scrap Monogram 1/48 P-51B Mustang I have been using as an airbrush test subject. I highlighted a panel line with a silver paint marker and cut the fuselage apart. The cut was smooth, clean and quick. (See attached photos) The saw will cut resin but tends to hang up a little bit. (But that may have just been my technique)

The only draw back I can imagine is that the blade is only 3/8 of an inch wide from the tongue to the cutting edge. This will not allow you to cut through a large part without repositioning the saw. I haven't tried it but I can imagine using the tip of the blade as a scriber for panel lines and such.

This is worth every penny in my mind. As a long time modeler, I can recommend this hobby saw. For tips on using the saw, go to this web site-

My thanks to John Vojtech and UMM for the chance to review this excellent tool.
