MSRP: $62.00 Website: www.aires.cz In October 2006 when the F-14 Tomcat ended its illustrious career it ended as the most extraordinary fighter in naval aviation history. You know the history as well as I do; mach 2+, ceiling 60,000 feet, able to track up to 24 targets from 100 miles away and attack up to six of them simultaneously, etc. Now the last of the Grumman’s great cats are relegated to museums, history books and scale modelers. Aires has given us yet another of their outstanding examples of aftermarket magic. This time it’s the cockpit for the Bombcat. The kit features large one piece tub with smaller pour plug to remove (a lot easier) the correct rear main screen and display, excellent representation of the GRU-7 ejection seats and a full sheet of photo-etch for the instrument dials, seat belts and canopy latches and full resin canopy frame. Also included are both front and rear hoods and they look absolutely fantastic when installed.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This detail set is simply the best you can get and well worth the price. If your aim is to build the most accurate F-14, then this set is highly recommended!!!!! I’d like to thank Aires and IPMS for the review copy of this cockpit.
