1/48 Hawker Sea Fury Wheel Bay For the Hobbycraft or Trumpeter kits.

MSRP: $18.50 Website: Aires Here’s another useful accessory from Aires for older kits. Both the Hobbycraft and Trumpeter Sea Fury kits suffer from inadequate main gear wells – the Trumpeter is by far the better, but still lacks depth and detail; the Hobbycraft one is just abysmal. This new one-piece resin part much better replicates what is a very busy area on the real thing. While I don’t have a Trumpeter kit to hand, I was able to view the parts. Once the pour stub is removed, a simple matter with a razor saw, the part should slot easily into place. With the Hobbycraft kit, you’ll need to thin the upper wing parts a bit and probably thin down the roof of the resin as well. I have the Cooper Details set for the Hobbycraft kit and was surprised to find that it doesn’t include a wheel well, so this part rounds out all the detail I’ll need for this kit, which in some respects is a better representation of a Sea Fury.
