MSRP: $18.50 Website: Aires Aires continues to release correction parts for older kits, in this case, the Trumpeter Wyvern that was released about 5 years ago; of course, this set is also applicable for the Classic Airframes kit that was released a little earlier. While I don’t have a Trumpeter kit to hand, I have seen the parts, and this new set is a big improvement on the kit parts, that are somewhat lacking in detail. With minimal pour stubs to remove, and no flaws, these parts really just slot into place with minimal fuss. I do have the Classic Airframes kit, and the Aires parts are a vast improvement on the resin parts included in that kit. Being a little deeper than the kit parts, the Aires bays will in all likelihood need some sanding and adjustment, and the upper wing parts will probably need thinning. However, the much better detail will greatly improve the look of the area and compensate for the work involved – no pain, no gain! In either case, a set I can recommend.
