1/72 Mistel One Conversion Set, Version 2 For the Hasegawa Ju-88 kit

MSRP: $19.50 Website: www.aires.cz This conversion set consists of ten pieces of the aircraft support structure and one warhead for the Ju-88 bomber. The instructions recommend the Hasegawa kit but I suspect it will work the Italeri kit as well. There are two colors of resin, blonde and gray. The gray appears to be flawless, no bubbles, pin holes and very thin flash. The blonde resin, which represents the main vertical support structure, has a pretty large area of flash but it will come clean with a new, sharp #11 blade.

When I attempted to cut the flash away, I realized that supporting the pieces during cutting protects them from breakage. There is also some very slight warpage in the blonde pieces, especially the angled supports. I don’t really know for sure, but that may be the way they were designed on the real thing. I guess I’ll find out when I put it on the model. Thanks to Aires for providing the review sample.
