The Box
This photo etch set of parts for the Kinetic F-86 kit was provided by Eduard. The product arrived in a plastic sleeve envelop with a set of printed instructions and a white cardboard stiffener insert. The stiffener prevents any serious damage to the photo etch and my sample arrived in mint condition.

The Part
There are two "sprues" of p.e. parts in # 32244 containing about 100 parts. These parts will add to or replace kit parts in the nose and main wheel wells, the gear doors, the speed brakes, the gun bays, on all three landing gear struts, and the hanging stores.

The Instructions
The instructions are printed on both sides of a single sheet of paper and the illustrations are well drawn. Additional time spent studying the drawings will ensure that the builder will use the proper part and attach it in the proper location.

The "key" contains symbols for seven different actions, those being "application of a mask and painting prior to assembly", "Symmetrical assembly", "remove", "grind", "drill hole", "bend", "option (as in "use it if for a particular variant)", and "replace". It should be noted that not all of these actions are called for and not all are a necessary part of using an Eduard product.

There are an additional four symbols for "original kit parts", "photo-etched parts", "parts to be removed", and "fill". These last four symbols use varied shades of gray highlight. As I've noted in previous reviews for Eduard p.e. sets, I found these shades difficult to distinguish. Regardless, if one studies the instruction carefully all will become clear.

Conclusion
The Eduard parts are well designed. The manner in which one shapes the parts, either rolling or folding, is aided by scribed lines. These lines not only mark the location at which a part should be bent but the line also aides considerably in achieving a straight line along which the part is bent. In general, the p.e. parts are easy to use and are produced at a high level of quality.

Recommendation
I highly recommend this product. The amount of detail that this p.e. set adds to the basic kit makes a huge difference in the quality of the finished model and the pleasure and enjoyment I derived from this project.
