1/48 Bf-110E Weekend Details For the Eduard kit

MSRP: $ 19.95 Website: www.eduard.cz Catalog Link This release from Eduard features a complete cockpit set for their 1/48 scale Bf 110E weekend edition kit. Included in the package is a single a photo-etch sheet consisting of roughly one hundred pieces. The details primarily enhance the cockpit as the sheet includes a plethora of pre-painted instrument panels, as well as rudder pedals and all sorts of levers and grab bars. Strangely seat harnesses are not included, which I would have expected in a detail set for the 'office'.

I started by assembling any of the photo etch pieces which comprise multiple pieces, such as the two part instrument panels and let them setup. I then removed all the plastic from the kit sprue's where the photo etch details were to replace kit detail, and base painted them - mostly RLM 02. The difference compared with the molded detail, once the photo etched instrument panel is applied, is easy to see.

There are a few complicated bends, and some of the more intricate details, such as the flap levers and ammo case handles needed a lot of patience. I only lost one of the short flap levers to the carpet monster, but I was lucky as there is one extra long lever which I was able to cut down and use as a replacement.
