MSRP: $27.95 Website: www.master-model.pl Stuka! Most see screaming dive bombers, but there is another side of this bent winged starched landing gear bird, that of the level tank busting aircraft. By slinging two Flak 18s under the wing the Stuka was transformed into a very suitable anti-tank aircraft on the Eastern Front. Hasegawa has produced this variant in 1/48th and 1/32nd scale. The 32nd scale offering is OK, but lacks the distinctive blast tube tooling. Master Models continues to amaze me with the quality of their turned metal barrels. Their Flak 18 contains parts for two 37mm pods carried by the Stuka. Some assembly is required in this case. Following the instructions is very easy and should prove no problem even for a novice modeler. Included in the set are six metal pieces, three per gun. Included are two turned barrels which are beautifully milled. Two rings are included and must be added prior to the two flash suppressors. The flash suppressors are a thing of beauty in themselves. They are remarkably detailed with appropriate slotted cooling fins and holes. The level of detail would be very difficult to do on your own, or as in my case, impossible.
