MSRP: $4.99 Website: www.mawdecals.com MAW Decals provides an excellent solution for modelers with a Hasegawa A-4C in their collection who would prefer an A-4B. Flawlessly cast in a cream- colored resin, this simple set consists of two pieces, a replacement nose section and an instrument panel. Not being a Skyhawk expert, all I was able to do to check for accuracy was compare the set to the relevant parts in the Hasegawa A-4B kit in my collection. I can report that the parts matched the Hasegawa kit parts extraordinarily well. The card specifies that the set is for the Hasegawa A-4C, so I don't know if the parts could be used to convert any of the other kits in the Hasegawa line, but I suspect they can be. With regard to quality, the acid test for resin parts in my book is the finish of the parts and absence of issues such as air bubbles. I can honestly report that on that score, this set measures up very well. The parts are superbly cast with a glass smooth finish and no air bubbles are present to mar the surface. Surface detail on both parts is extremely fine and should look great once installed. It may be that the A-4C kit is easier to track down than the A-4B. If that is the case, this set offers a very economical way to model the earlier version. Even if you have the A-4B kit, this set may still be worth a look as the nose is cast in one piece and looks to install on a natural panel line eliminating the need to fill the center line seam that the kit would require. Time may not actually be money, but you can definitely save some of the former by spending a bit of the latter when it comes to sets like this. Recommended.Recommended.
