MSRP: $6.95 Website: www.quickboost.net Quickboost offers some of the best resin parts on the market today, this item is no different. Intended for the ICM Spitfire kits, this set replaces the kit’s injection molded fishtail exhaust stacks with ease. Each individual outlet is painstakingly precise in meticulous detail, from the well defined oval shape to the final flair just before the tips. The only thing missing are some weld seams. This detail can be added with the careful application of a hair thin piece of styrene starting from the flair to the trunk of the base along the center line of each stack. Quickboost has also thoughtfully included some optional mounting plates. These allow the modeler to attach the exhausts without having to build the complete kit engine; a very nice touch since if you are inclined to leave the cowling closed you don’t need to build up the complete motor. The mounting plates attach directly to the inside of each fuselage half before joining; allowing the building to add the stacks after most of the painting has been completed. I highly recommend this set, from the exquisite detail to the well thought out blanking plates (not to mention not having to try and drill out the oval kit parts) this set will improve any kit it’s used on.
