Quickboost calls for a Bf 109 F made by FineMolds. I had a couple of problems with this. 1) I didn't have a FineMolds Bf 109 , which is out of production and 2) I didn't have an F model at all. I did have a Pro Modeler G model though. It would be easier if you have a kit where the exhausts are a separate piece, this way you won't have to cut off the exhausts and the new part will drop right in.

Next I was going to have to do a little research. I went to Google and it sent me to this address. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daimler_Benz_DB_605.

I learned that the F model used a Daimler Benz DB 601 engine and this was the same engine used on the earlier G models. The later Gs used the 605 engine, which had been determined, could be bored out from the existing 601 engine without affecting the strength of the block. Therefore the engine was the same, only improved, giving it higher revolutions, higher compression ratio and a more powerful super charger. As for the exhausts, there was no mention of them being changed.

Anyway, back to the Quickboost exhaust. This offering is up to the usual Quickboost quality. They are molded in their usual gray resin and are bubble free. One thing of note is that they are really easy to remove from the mold block. Another plus is that the nozzles are bored out which would be a real pain if you tried to do it on the kit part.

I highly recommend this product if you want a really superior looking model. Thanks to Quickboost and IPMS/USA for the chance to do this review.
