MSRP: $4.99 Website: www.quickboost.net This is the third in a series of corrections that Quickboost has come out with to spruce up the Fujimi Mig-21 kits. The ventral fin is cast in the usual grey resin that Quickboost uses with no defects in this sample. This piece comes with no instruction, but none are needed really as it is a direct replacement for the Fujimi ventral fin. What are the differences you ask? Both are the same length and the locating stub is in the same location. The Quickboost fin is .240" in height, while the Fujimi fin is .220" in height, not terribly different. The Quickboost ventral fin is half the thickness at the base compared to the Fujimi fin. The air scoops at the base of the ventral fin are markedly different, the Quickboost version is longer, sleeker and the front is indented to create the illusion of an air scoop. The Fujimi version is shorter, thicker and clunky looking with no opening at the face. The overall effect has the Quickboost ventral fin looking slim and realistic quite the opposite of the Fujimi's. It was easy to remove the Quickboost ventral fin from its casting gate and place it on the model. Since the Quickboost ventral fin is thinner than the Fujimi fin the slot is too big and needs slims on both sides, otherwise it will wobble about. I highly recommend this product if you want to correct the look on your Fujimi Mig-21s. I want to thank IPMS/USA and Quickboost for the chance to review this product.
