1/32 P-38 Landing Gear and Wheels/Masks For the Trumpeter kit

MSRP: SAC Gear: $18.95, Aires Wheels/Masks: $14.95 Website: www.scaleaircraftconversions.com Website: www.aires.cz The amount of weight required to keep this model from being a "tail sitter" was substantial, and the problem with the weak plastic didn't show up until 3 months after the fact. Major surgery will be required to correct this, but it's a good case in point that heavy models need metal gear.

This model should have been built using the SAC metal gear as replacements for the kit plastic parts. My plans are to cut and pin the gear legs in order to use the SAC metal axles (see above) and the Aires wheels. As expected from Aires, the wheel castings are absolutely flawless, free of pinholes or warps. The hub and tread detail are perfect and they come with a set of vinyl masks making the task of painting much easier. I fully intend to use these to effect the repairs on my Trumpeter P-38.
