[review image] Foundry Miniatures has been in business for over 20 years. They are very similar to Games Workshop. They make and carry their own line of EXTENSIVE 28mm miniatures as well as everything you could possibly need to paint, alter, stick to and then game with. Their line of miniatures has seven major categories and these are then broken into sub-categories that contain over 15 different sections each. They also carry all the books and equipment needed to field your miniatures. The neat thing is that they also make and market their own brand of paint. Which, by several published reviews, are the "Best in the business".

For those in the know, I apologize for sounding amazed. However, until three days ago, I had no idea who Foundry Miniatures was. I received the book and read through it and immediately went and checked out their website. They produce all this stuff and also have an email newsletter to let people know about upcoming releases.

[review image] This soft cover book is a release of previously published articles and works throughout the life of Foundry. There are some absolutely stunning painted miniatures and stuff for you to drool over. The book includes add-ons to games, making up scenarios, and even constructing your own ships for your pirates and those not wanting to be captured by pirates to sail in. Within it's 96 pages are numerous photos of peoples works and even conversions of Foundry Miniatures figures. There is a great section on "changing it up". This covers simple things like historically accurate clothing, shields and weapons for the different periods, and converting your 28mm figure. I played D&D in it's heyday and would never have thought about doing some of the conversion work to the small figures I had that were done in this book.

This is another great book to add to anyone's collection. Especially if you are into any form of table top games or like me, enjoy the occasional Warhammer 40K build to break up the monotony of Olive Drab, Afrika mustard, or Sinai Gray. Their whole line can be checked out and ordered from www.wargamesfoundry.com and they even take PAYPAL. Thanks to Casemate Publishing for the review sample and to Foundry Miniatures for the book and IPMS/USA for allowing me to review it. Have fun, build a model…..or paint a miniature.
