If you are not up on the latest issues, the dollar is on the rise against the pound. If everything is right in the world, that means you currently save almost $8.00 per issue over the cost of these EXCELLENT magazines. The subscription cost is still almost $70.00 for a year. These magazines follow a standard plan that I have become accustomed to. Every issue usually contains three or four models, a real-life armored subject and the latest armor issue releases. The cover of this issue caught my eye as a love all recovery vehicles and those based on the venerable T-55 are always unique. AFV Modeler has started a new series, "Sherman Up Close" that will look at different variants of the Sherman tank. The first one is a M4A1 preserved at the National Museum of Americans in Wartime.

This issue contains the following articles:
  • IMR – T-55 based combat engineer vehicle.
  • Stug Mineroller – Post war mineroller converted from a Stug III.
  • Back on Track – Canadian M-113 TLAVs in real time photographs.
  • Combat Support – M113A3 TLAV built from Best value Models.
  • Sherman Up Close M4A1 – Real vehicle photographs.
  • Keeping Track – The latest and greatest kits currently available.
  • A Photographic Memory – 1/72 SdKfz 232 incident.

The Stug III mineroller was a neat conversion piece. The TLAV kit was neat and the sprocket was very weird looking. The SdKfz 232 was an interesting diorama constructed from a few photographs the builder had found on the internet. This is another great issue and definitely would have been bought at the local hobby shop. I would like to thank AFV Modeller for the review sample and IPMS/USA for a place to post this review for others to see and read. If you are a tread head, like me, then this is a magazine for you.
